Privacy

Sikhi Safar is made for children and families, so we collect as little information as possible. Here is exactly what happens.

Who we are

Sikhi Safar (sikhisafar.com) is a free educational website about Sikhism, run in the United Kingdom. You can reach us through the Contact Us page.

Visiting the website

We count visits so we know which pages are useful. We do this without cookies and without storing anyone’s IP address. For each page viewed we keep only: the page, the language, the type of device (phone, tablet or computer) and the website the visitor came from. A scrambled code that changes every day lets us count each visitor once per day. It cannot identify anyone or follow anyone from one day to the next.

Cookies and your device

Sikhi Safar has no adverts and no tracking cookies. Our web host may set one small security cookie (its name starts with “humans_”) that helps block robots; it holds no personal information. The website remembers your chosen language and text size on your own device (in your browser’s storage) and never sends them to us. If you install the Sikhi Safar app, pages are saved on your device so they work offline.

The Contact Us form

If you send us a message, we receive the message, the page it is about, and — only if you choose to give them — your name and email address. We use these only to read and reply to your message. Messages are emailed to us and are not stored on the website. We delete them when they are no longer needed, and at the latest after 12 months.

Children

Children can use every part of Sikhi Safar without giving any personal information. We ask children under 13 to send messages only with help from a parent, carer or teacher.

Sharing

We never sell or share your information. The website and our visitor counts are stored on the servers of our web host, Bluehost.

Other websites

Some pages link to other websites, such as Wikimedia Commons, the SGPC and WhatsApp. Those websites have their own privacy policies.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, using the Contact Us page.
