The town has several Gurdwaras that remember Guru Nanak’s childhood: Gurdwara Patti Sahib, where he went to school; Gurdwara Kiara Sahib, where the fields trampled by his buffaloes turned green again; and Gurdwara Tambu Sahib, where he rested under a tree after the “True Deal”. Rai Bular, the Muslim landlord of the village, was one of the first people to see how special Guru Nanak was.
